In recent years, organizations have faced increasing pressure from consumers, the government, suppliers, NGOs, and investors to adopt sustainable supply chain management. As a result, many organizations have pursued environmental, social, and economic goals throughout their supply chains. The ongoing socio-economic turbulence, with ripple effects across global supply chains, especially in emerging economies, can lead to devastating consequences and disrupt the organization's stability, survival, and sustainability. The present study aimed to identify types of environmental turbulence in the sustainable pharmaceutical supply chain. The statistical population comprised experts in the pharmaceutical supply chain, selected through purposive and snowball sampling until theoretical saturation was achieved. This study is mixed (qualitative and quantitative). In the qualitative part, data were collected through a review of the theoretical background and semi-structured interviews, and were coded and analyzed using thematic analysis. In the quantitative part, the Delphi technique and Kendall's correlation coefficient were used to validate the extracted themes and indicators. The research findings provide a valid and practical framework for understanding, analyzing, and managing environmental turbulence in the intelligent sustainable pharmaceutical supply chain, and can pave the way for informed decision-making in complex, turbulent environments.
